A workman with Maguire Iron Inc., of South Dakota, looks down Wednesday morning from the Sedalia water tower located at East Main Street and South Massachusetts Avenue. Sedalia Water Department General Manager Charles Bosch said the renovation contract for the tower began July 1.
Living in the Midwest, we see all of the weather extremes. Tanks freeze in the winter and in the summer, straight line winds or tornadoes can do extensive damage as they recently did in Fairmount, ND. Maguire Iron was there to evaluate the damage and work quickly to restore water to the community.

On Saturday, April 5th, students, parents, teachers and program supporters from companies like Maguire Iron gathered at the Sioux Falls School District’s Career and Technical Education Campus for the annual American Welding Society Weld Off. 46 Students competed in TIG, MIG and Stick welding categories. Congratulations to the winners!

At a company lunch yesterday, we bid Lawrence Kindvall a fond farewell after 19 years in Maguire Iron’s fabrication shop. His official last day with the company will be Monday, March 31. Lawrence’s co-workers shared lunch, cake and stories and sent him off with his own watertower art piece to remember us by.
