Maguire Iron has spent the past three years partnering with Helping Kids Round First bring water to a farming community in Nicaragua. Now, at the end of November, a delegation from Maguire Iron will be traveling to the country to see the progress of the farming operation.

Sioux Falls – ” Our relationship with Helping Kids Round First, specifically the Nicaraguan people is very special to our organization,” said Maguire Iron President Gene Jones, Jr. “We’ve been actively involved with them for close to four years now.

“We’ve made a visit to Nicaragua two years ago. We are sending another team in another month. The excitement that our company has for the Nicaraguan people, to help them provide for a sustainable food source, water source. Just to improve their standard of living is something that really gets our company, myself personally and all the people that we work with very excited to be a part of Helping Kids Round First and what they are doing to fulfill the needs and improve the lives of the people in Nicaragua,” said Jones Jr.

“I’m really excited to go to Nicaragua with the rest of the team from Maguire Iron,” said Maguire Iron Vice-President Scott Jones. “Obviously, I talked to my brother about his trip two years ago and seeing all of the people that we’re working with and the community that we’ve worked with. To help them build their well and so they’ve got sustainable farming and just seeing all the different areas of Nicaragua and how we can help as a team and as a company. How Maguire Iron can help in Nicaragua.”

“To be picked and selected to go down to Nicaragua was something that I would have never imagined,” said Maguire Iron Director of HR Brittney Hadrick. “You don’t think that just because you’ve signed up for something that you can go and witness it first-hand. You don’t think, I was just honored. It was very humbling. I’m excited to go and talk about it with other employees and get them excited about the project as well because we are helping a community.”

“To send a team of delegates from Maguire to spend a week, boots on the ground, visit the farms, visit the softball and baseball programs that they support. Being there face-to-face with those people is invaluable. It literally changes the lives of the people who get to experience all of those parts of the Nicaraguan lifestyle,” said Jones, Jr.
